Finding a balance
When I first met Mrs Sitout on our 3rd date I offered to take her to Manchester United match (how romantic I hear you say). Now Mrs Sitout was in no way a football fan she had no interest in football, she was the type, first to complain and ask why have they moved Coronation Street to show the football? Well it was cold March night and we wrapped up warm. Manchester United v Porto with Cantona in his prime. She didn't know the songs ….she didn't know the players…. she kept asking when do we stand up and when do we sit down. Great night was had, United won 4-0 and Mrs Sitout was hooked..... she loved it! Now I know I introdused her to Manchester United at a time when there more good games than bad ahead which helps (I had been through the bad times). But she now knows more about football than me and enjoy watching football together live and on the TV.
Well when I started playing poker on the internet Mrs Sitout was interested ….so I thought teach her the basics and it turns out she is not a bad player … we had a few home games with friends just for fun boyfriends and girlfriends and she enjoyed the games and did quite well.... but then I really got the poker bug.... and started getting obsessed … reading the books, watching the TV shows, joining the forums and banging up the hours on the internet. Well that's when I think she started to loose interest in poker. She was becoming a poker widow. Tip number one for new players is keep your better half involved and interested in poker (two poker players are better than one)!
Well my point is are you getting your poker life and your real life in balance right. I would like to ask your opinions on a few issues with this …...
1. Do you think you have a good balance of time with your poker life and your real life?
2. How do compromise with your better half and family on this balance?
3. Have you ever had a row with your better half over poker?
4. Do you ever feel guilty at how much poker you are playing?
5. Have you ever split up a relationship over poker? (and was it worth it!)

P.S. I don't think I've got it right yet or have the answers…. I'm working on it …. I will playing poker tonight but I will be sat with Mrs Sitout and watching Manchester United on Sky Sports 2 ...so don't expect my A game tonight. Have fun all.
