The Stegs, Spitvenom and Sitout747 2011 Vegas Tour!

Well some of you will know us and some of you may not.... So for those that don't just a quick background … All 3 of us were members of an other forum (now defunct ) but we had a great community there.  Both Stegs and Spitvenom are are top notch solid players (not pros) … I (Sitout) am learning to improve my game and know on my good day I could beat them both (and have) as I sometimes have a to looser game which works for me. I would say I'm the apprentice out of the three of us but I do have some game when I'm sober (but you have to be quick to catch that moment LOL)!

Stegs (real name Martin but prefers stegs) is married with 3 kids loves poker but has not played live at a casino and his other weakness is the GG's. He is one of the most positive and helpful poker players I have ever met online and has totally changed my attitude to poker. He was supposed to play in the UKIPT in Brighton and I drunkenly said one night I would come down and rail him..... Spitvenom (real name John) I don't know as well so don't have his family situation. I know he loves poker and playing pool. John is a really tough poker player … always a pleasure to be at his table … true gent and knows how to take a bad beat (I'm sure I have given him a few!). Well about me …. my name is Andy …..Love playing poker, football (man U, I'm the fan from Manchester), fishing, gardening,drinking and DIY. Mrs Sitout and I have been together for about 15 years (how she puts up with me I don't know), we have been to Vegas once 5 years ago ...I played poker she played the slots … I don't know why she didn't play poker (don't tell her but she's a quite good poker player)?   I'm a micro stakes poker player and free roller but I know my poker play is reasonable …..but this year I set myself the target of moving up the levels to me a $5 tournament was a big one. Having played some big ($5) tourneys ...with players that I knew were better than I …. well that's what I wanted … I just wanted to learn..... Well I found wasn't competently out out of my depth and was even lucky to win one or two. Well I'm the mother hen of the group.... I'm sure we will do our own things at times but I'm sure we will be hooking up some of the time... its sure going to be a blast!

Well I'm about to head off to the airport to meet John and then its off to Vegas!(subject to the boarder agencies strike) I like to do a bit of blogging so if time allows I would like to keep you informed of our adventure out there. A big thank you goes out to all those who have wished us well (to many to mention). We know of quite a few others that are going out from this and other forums so we hope to hook up with lots of others ...there may even be a wedding on the cards. Hope to keep you all informed

Stegs.....Spitvenom ….Sitout747 Vegas tour part 2

Hi all just a little update.......

finally Spit an I land in Las Vegas (3:30pm local time)...... after a one hour queue at immigration ….. just to give the same set of finger and thumb prints that I gave them the last time I was here.... off to get a taxi... MGM ….check-in ….bags to room (very nice) …..back down to the casino floor …. I think John was impressed with the size of the place and for me it was nice to back on familiar ground.

The time now was 4:30pm and we knew we had missed Morspans wedding but we set off to see if we could catch any of the aftermath.... walk out of the MGM into the Vegas heat ….we are talking hot ..VERY HOT!..... skip through NY NY over to Excalibur ….quick look around ...no PL people there so catch the tram down to Mandalay Bay.....well we cant find them there so we console ourself s with a few beers and toast the bride and groom anyway...

Well the time was 7pm local time but are UK body clocks were telling us it was midnight but we wanted to play on …. so back to the MGM and time to start playing some POKER!  John joined one of the many $1/$2 NL  games and I joined the $2/$4 limit games....... it was great to be back playing live..... after about 2 hrs I was about $30 up ….so I felt like a change ...and went over to Excalibur to play a limit game there ….. after a hour I had lost my $30 profit ...so went back to the MGM and played one last hour of limit ….no profit but no loss. The time was now 1pm how I was still awake I don't know must been the free booze I guess on the way back to my room bumped into John ...he said he finished about $35 up but said it was tough going. Well lets see what tomorrow brings......

For some reason we both wake up early 6 am!!!! I nip downstairs for a quick smoke …. just thought I would check the poker room, still 6 no limit tables and 1 limit table running.... a quick look at the players on the limit tables and 3 of them were the same players I left the night before!!!
Well I decided to show John a few places along the strip ….and as it was 6:30 am and nice and cool outside (28'C) we thought we would walk (I know, bad move)....walked to Planet Hollywood, Paris past the Bellagio on to Ballys and over to Bills with John snapping away with his camera .....getting thirsty now so popped into Bills for a swift one … John wanted to try one of the $75 WSOP sats to try to get into Stegs's Big one. So we decided to walk to the Rio.... (big mistake) …. Vegas has a funny way of making things seem nearer than they are.... Just because you can see it does not mean you can walk there!!! Well after 30 long hot minutes we made it!!! Once in the Rio we both walked into the WSOP main room .it was about the size of 2 football pitches full of poker tables (and I mean Full). John entered his sat ….100 runners approx. but alas John crashed out just after the first break in about 50th place.

Well this time we made sure we got the free bus back to the strip into Bills for a few scoops... then back to the MGM for a bit of poker. John on the NL up about $40 me on the Limit down about $30 , when we get a text from Stegs saying he's just checked in and is ready to come out to play …. so we hop onto the bus and up to Bills to meet up. John hits the black jack tables (and was doing well) and I enjoyed the free Fat Elvis Show from the bar while we wait for stegs.... Well at last we all meet up …. it really was great to have the the three amigos together at last!!! We share some story’s over a few $7 pitchers …. and of to the MGM via the night time fountain show at the Bellagio (well worth it). John hits the NL tables, Stegs and I hit the limit tables with $80 each..... Well I kid you not ...we both played the right hands folded when we had to ….. and believe it or not we never won a single pot!!! The table banter made up for it. Stegs and I licked our wounds and just chilled out in the Sports Book room over our last free beer.

The time was midnight so we said our fair wells and the agreed to hook up the following day.... I was feeling tired so I left John at the tables and went to bed slept like a baby...... Well John woke me up when he staggered in at 6:30 am ….. I felt refreshed...so I thought I would do some blogging …. took my laptop down to Starbucks and over a nice coffee Latte ...head clearing …..and fighting fit …. ready for a new day!!! God know what Johns heads going to feel like when he finally gets out his pit ….but I'm sure it not going to be good!!! LOL ;-) Well that's all for now keep you informed when I have time.

Great read at 02:50 on a Monday morning back here  I am railing a friend HU in the iPoker $5 $4000 game, they have been at it for ages it seems !! $500 for 2nd $1000 for 1st - typical ipoker lol

Hope you enjoy a cracking 4th July , I bet there will be a few fireworks lol
