Which earns your respect?

Which earns your respect?

1. Players who bluff people and take down a pot.

2. Players who get paid when they have great hands.

Pretty easy for me as I feel it is often more difficult to get money off players when they have nothing and I am holding the nuts than to overbet with 7-2 off and get players to lay down crap hands.

What are your thoughts and why?

Tight players find it easier to do (1); loose players find (2) easier.

The players I personally respect are (3): Players who are prepared to get it in behind and suck out occasionally. These are generally the guys who have got the balance right and can achieve both (1) and (2) when table conditions are appropriate.

I tend to have more respect for people that can play the game and not the cards , poker is easy i think when you have the cards and hit flops, theres not too much to think about , but when taking down a big pot with a bluff i think it takes a great amount of skill and bravery as there is so much more to consider , ie table image, what u think they have , table dynamics and all that kinda stuff, i will learn how to do it well one day , i suck at bluffing  ::)
